Our Mushroom Grow Bags are 100% Guaranteed
The following mushroom grow bags types are best Side fruited and the bag will come out taped down for your convenience; Pearl Oyster, Elm Oyster, Lions Mane, Pink Oyster, Golden Oyster.
King Oyster, Nameko, Pioppino, Black Oyster achieve best results if topfruited so just cut the top off the plastic bag and place somewhere cool. Mist the side of the walls lightly once every 1-2 days
Shiitake need to be grown out of the bag in a tub/bucket so are more at risk of contamination and suitable for more advanced growers.
Our bags are bigger than most others available and weigh in at 2.3 kg, this gives extra value for money and each bag can be expected to produce 1kg of mushrooms over its lifetime. Great value when you consider these mushrooms retail for $50 - 80 per kg at farmers markets and specialist stores in Australia.
Our mushroom grow bags are made in small batches making it easier to maintain quality. If you haven’t grown mushrooms before it’s best to start with Oysters which are very easy and once you get the mushroom bug move on to Lions Mane or Shiitake. Please email us if you have any questions.
Our bags are shipped when fresh rather than being refrigerated for long periods as this has been shown to reduce yields and weakens genetics. We grow from the same bags so we fully understand the entire life cycle.
All our mushroom grow bags are 100% guaranteed and we pride ourselves in our quality product and customer service.
Our new shop is open at 5/118 Invermay Road, Invermay, Tasmania
We stock grow kits, grain spawn, fresh mushrooms, mushroom tinctures and powders and other quality products from small Tasmanian producers
Common Issues and general information:
Mushrooms respire like Humans so need Oxygen to thrive, Pearl and white Oysters consume a surprising amount of Oxygen as they grow so quickly so need to be kept somewhere they can breathe and not locked in a cupboard/box. If the stipe/stem of Oyster Mushroom is elongated with a small cap they need more Oxygen.
When misting use cooled, boiled water and mist the plastic rather than the mushrooms directly…they like humidity but dont like getting wet.
Mushrooms like ambient light and don’t need to be kept in the dark (just avoid direct sunlight).
Harvest your mushrooms early for better eating quality, longer shelf life and a greater chance of better 2nd and 3rd flushes/harvests.
